Specialty Model
Biofilm Model
In vivo biofilm models for evaluating activity against surface-associated, resistant infection.
Biofilms are structured microbial communities encased in a protective matrix, notoriously tolerant to antimicrobials and a major driver of chronic and device-associated infection. Our biofilm models evaluate compound activity against these surface-associated, highly resistant populations.
This capability is especially relevant for medical-device programs and for compounds intended to address persistent, hard-to-treat infection.
Applications
- Activity against surface-associated biofilm
- Device- and implant-related infection
- Anti-biofilm and matrix-disrupting compounds
- Chronic and persistent infection endpoints
Customized to your program
Like all of our in vivo work, this model is tailored to your compound, route of administration, dosing regimen, and the specific endpoints your program requires. We will work with you to design a study that answers your scientific questions and stands up to regulatory scrutiny.
